Re-Striping vs. a New Layout
Re-striping repaints your existing layout in the same places. It's the right call when the plan still works but the paint has faded — typically every 1 to 3 years depending on traffic and sun. A new layout makes sense when a lot has been resurfaced or sealcoated to a blank surface, when you want to add stalls or ADA spaces, or when traffic flow isn't working. Fresh sealcoating followed by new striping is the most complete "like new" refresh for a tired lot.
ADA Parking Space Requirements
Accessible parking is required for most businesses open to the public. Under the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, the minimum number of accessible spaces depends on the total number of spaces in the lot, and at least one of every six accessible spaces must be van-accessible.

Standard accessible spaces are at least 8 feet wide with a 5-foot access aisle; van-accessible spaces need either an 11-foot space with a 5-foot aisle or an 8-foot space with an 8-foot aisle. Accessible spaces should sit on the shortest accessible route to the entrance. Local codes can add requirements, so for new construction or major alterations, confirm with your local building official — we're happy to walk through your lot with you.

Parking lot striping typically lasts 1 to 3 years depending on traffic volume, weather exposure, and pavement condition. High-traffic areas may need re-striping every year, while low-traffic lots can often go 2 to 3 years between applications.
Most parking lot striping jobs are completed in a single day. Smaller lots take about 2 to 4 hours; larger commercial properties or full re-layouts may take a full day.
Usually not completely. Fresh paint needs about 30 to 60 minutes to dry before vehicles drive on it. We can work in phases to keep most of the lot open, or schedule the work during off-hours.
